Final Fantasy II (IV) cartridge repair

Jan 14, 2014

Pretty proud of this one. I had this cartridge sitting under a shelf for a while (6 or 7 years) waiting to be fixed and I finally got around to getting a new save battery with tabs, so I decided to go ahead and try to fix it. I had to get about $3 worth of parts altogether in order to make it save. The game loaded fine, but it just wouldn't ever save. Now that has changed! Final Fantasy II PCB that had an exploded battery, now with new save battery, replaced diode that was missing a leg, repositioned and reattached corroded leg to SRAM chip, replaced rusted capacitors, and cleaned corrosion off the entire board
